Window Hearts

I try to change the window stars for each new festival, so for Valentine's I had to make window hearts! They are super simple, in fact they are some of the simplest window decorations I have made with the kite paper. So with out further a do here are the instructions:

Start with a square of kite paper in your choice of colour, then fold it into a triangle by folding it in half.

Now unfold the triangle so that you have the square again, and repeat the same fold using the other corner to make a triangle. This should give you a square piece of kite paper with a crease running for corner to corner each way on the diagonal .

Now that you have the square again, you are going to fold the left and right points into the middle to meet the cross. When you have made both folds add a bit of glue just a dab. See the 2 images below:

You are now going to make two folds to make the point of half a heart. To do this you need to make a fold like the one below:

Now repeat on the other side, this should give you one side of the heart. Don't forget to glue the folds down.

Finally fold the top of the widest end over a little bit and glue down. You now have one side of the heart complete.

Simply repeat the process for the other side then glue them both together and voila you have a lovely window heart! Enjoy.xxx
